Helo Boy !! Yes it was 5 lucky beak aways..we've got them playing well as a team..but most of them are young lads and i'm working on their concentration spans..which like saturday tends to wander a bit if their romping it and/or if they're getting a hamering...which luckily hasn't occured for a while....
I see what you mean about concentration - loosing 2 goals in the last minute aint too good.
I found out that I was becoming the butt of the jokes for reminding the lads 'keep it tight and concentrate for the next 5 mins' every time there was a goal for or against us. Good thing is at least they were remembering to do it.
Had 5 good wins on the bounce, starting to really look like a proper team - might even get promoted into our first division, even though they are one of the youngest squads.
i'd be tempted to "drill" it into them at training rather than during matches now ..to see if it's sinking in....it could also have a negative effect now where they could go defensive rather than build on a lead..or put up a fight back....which ever the case maybe..
I just keep reminding them of the number of times that they have been in games, or games in EPL even, where one team scores and grabbs a quick second, or one team scores and the others get a quick equaliser. I remind them that if we concede we need to work hard to make sure we get one back, or if we have scored we should work hard to get the quick second and not let them retaliate.
